Packaging Machine Operator

Are you passionate about the food and beverage industry?  Do you want to contribute to the growth of one of Canada’s Top manufacture of high-quality vegetarian, vegan, Halal, Gluten-Free and organic frozen and fresh meat alternatives?  Sol Cuisine has several exciting opportunities on our Production Team at our Mississauga location.

We have immediate openings for Packaging Machine Operator in our Vegetarian food manufacturing operation on both 1st and 2nd shift. (Days 7-3 and Afternoon 3-11).

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Packaging Machine Operator will be responsible for operating the packaging equipment in an efficient, safe, and effective manner while adhering to all food & safety guidelines and Sol Cuisine’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with packaging equipment (an asset).
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in close proximity to food manufacturing machinery.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • General mechanical aptitude.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Competency in English.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Food industry experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Must be able to lift bagged ingredients with a weight of ~25kg. Other lifting and bending will be required throughout the individual’s shift
  • Work area may be refrigerated or ambient so working for prolonged periods at temperatures +/- 10 degrees Celsius may be required. As well there may be on occasion times where it is necessary to work at sub-zero or warmer temperatures.

Food Production Operators

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Food Production Operator is responsible for operating machinery and performing responsibilities involved in manufacturing, monitoring the progress and quality of food products, and/or processing food product while adhering to all food & safety and personal safety guidelines within Sol Cuisine’s policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience and knowledge of machinery used for food extrusion, forming, batter & breading, mixing, and cooking is an asset.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing/preparation environment is required.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • English language ability is required, must be able to Speak, Read and Write English.
  • Ability to work accurately, keeping up with the fast paced production line.
  • Multi-tasking skills demonstrating excellent attention to detail.
  • Listens and follows instructions and procedures as directed.
  • Learns new processes and procedures quickly.
  • Works well both independently, and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety, GMP’s, HACCP and other manufacturing policies.
  • Ability and flexibility to work ALL shifts including days, afternoons, and weekend shifts.
